It began during the SciFi years of Caption This!. One of the shows we'd cap was Friday the 13th:The Series, wherein Robey and company spent every episode trying to hunt down another cursed artifact. One episode had them going after what appearred to be a phallus, which the cappers quickly dubbed 'The Cursed Dildo'. Although the cursed dildo began as a running gag just for that episode (I think it dominated every cap that night), it grew to become a running gag for the Friday the 13th series, and would even pop up while capping other shows as well. On a final note, the proper pronunciation is "Cur-sed Dil-do".
